On Wednesday 3rd December at 5pm we invite you to a screening of the film the White House Effect followed by a discussion about the climate change and ideas for the sustainability of our campus. The film will be screened in the Cinema Hall of the Institute of Physiology in Krč.

Climate change is quite possibly the greatest challenge facing humanity, something we have slowly been coming to terms with since the 1970s. The title of the report, The White House Effect, refers to a paraphrase of the term greenhouse effect used by Vice President George H. W. Bush when he ran for president of the United States in the late 1980s. He presented the issue as apolitical and objective, declaring his desire to unite ideological camps and solve the problem. However, this soon changed. It was during Bush’s term in office that the issue became highly politicized and dominated by groups lobbying for fossil fuels.
