Healthy diet

Since 2019, we have been trying to push through a larger proportion of meatless meals in the canteen. In the summer of 2019, we organized an appeal to the Canteen Commission, where we explained three reasons for a smaller proportion of meat in our meals: health, ecological and ethical.

Then, thanks to the Canteen Commission’s helpful attitude and cooperation, we created a poll about the GZD menu. We asked about the preferences of canteen visitors regarding meatless meals on the lunch menu. In September 2019, we collected 317 answers in two weeks. Most respondents (77%) would prefer the offer of two meatless meals instead of one. You can download the complete report here. Based on the poll, on a regular negotiation with the Eating Commission, the dining room management agreed to offer a second meatless meal when the one was sweet or fried. The agreement was gradually renewed and maintained and recently even extended. Details can be found in this record from the catering committee of 22.6.2022.

Recently, we have been preparing two posters promoting lower meat consumption. In on-screen format, you can see them below. References to the Czech language poster are available here (in Czech). References to the Czech language poster are available here, and references to the English poster here.
